What is the Statewide Mobile Air Monitoring Initiative (SMMI)?
The Statewide Mobile Air Monitoring Initiative (SMMI) is designed to attain a comprehensive dataset of criteria pollutants, toxic air contaminants, and greenhouse gases, create a data portal for public to access and visualize SMMI data, and conduct inclusive community engagement to better understand and address community concerns.
Read more about SMMI from Aclima here.
This project provides an opportunity to complement AB 617 statewide air monitoring activities by engaging communities beyond those currently selected under the Community Air Protection Program, providing data to fill air monitoring gaps and support additional actions to reduce emissions and exposure. Read the project press release and get involved by responding to our air quality concerns survey. (Ask for the survey at one our tabling events below)
This initiative is in collaboration with TVAQCA, Aclima, California Air Resources Board, and California Climate Investments.

How to Do the Survey?

Do you care about climate change? Do you care about air quality in your community?
Aclima is looking for mission-aligned drivers to map air quality. Be part of the Aclima team collecting hyperlocal and actionable pollution data!
In this position you will drive Aclima air sensor-equipped vehicles through assigned locations. The instruments in the vehicle measure the air continuously as you drive. This position is as a solo driver. You will be the only person in the vehicle.
